Single Jumps Club




Master Single Jumps Within 4 Weeks
Join us on December 28 for the first session
Whether you're a newcomer to skating or have some basic knowledge, Level 1 caters to all. Level 1 is where you'll work towards mastering all single jumps. We'll help you achieve excellence in Waltz Jump, Salchow, Loop, Toe loop, Flip and Lutz off-ice.
Who leads Single Jumps Club?
  • Coach Irene
    Every Saturday
    ($45/hour)
    Irene is a certified skating coach, known for her mastery of triple-triple jump combinations. She’s a multiple winner at stages of the Russian Cup and has showcased her talents in various ice shows, including productions by Ilya Averbukh.

You will need

Sneakers, a jump rope, an off-ice spinner (see on the picture - any of these) , stable Internet connection and some space.

Single Jumps Club Program
The Single Jumps Club is an excellent stepping stone for skaters aiming to progress to more complex jumps like doubles and triples in the future.

Introduction to Single Jumps
Salchow: A back inside edge jump where the skater takes off from the back inside edge of one skate, rotating once in the air.
Toe Loop: A jump where the skater uses the toe pick to assist in rotation while taking off from a back outside edge.
Loop, Flip & Lutz: Additional single jumps focusing on different takeoff edges and mechanics.

Core Techniques
Take-Off Techniques: Learn how to achieve the proper lift and rotation through the right body posture and timing.
Landing Techniques: Focus on soft, controlled landings to build confidence and prevent injuries.
Rotation Control: Drills to improve air position and body alignment for smoother, cleaner rotations.

Off-Ice Conditioning
Strength Training: Focus on leg strength, core stability, and overall body conditioning to aid jump power and control.
Flexibility: Stretching routines to ensure a full range of motion for better jump execution.
Plyometric Drills: Exercises designed to improve explosive power for higher jumps.

Safety and Injury Prevention
  • Emphasis on proper warm-ups and cool-downs to avoid injury.
  • Techniques to strengthen ankles and knees to reduce strain during landings.

  • Skaters will start with basic drills and gradually increase difficulty as their technique improves.
  • The program progresses into more complex drills and introduces a transition into double jumps once the singles are mastered.
