Olympic dreams: Jessica Jurka’s figure skating

When it comes to competitive sports, hard work will take you so far, but some of the best athletes just have a raw passion for the sport they do, and that’s exactly the case for 11-year-old figure skater Jessica Jurka. Jurka lives in the Toledo area, but makes the two hour drive over to Fort Wayne during the week to train with some of the best. While her mom drives her over to the Fort, the young athlete balances her skating career with schoolwork and reading in the car.

She’s hoping her hard work and love of figure skating will eventually take her to the Olympics.
